We encourage our members to know God deeply and to live openly before Him in all they do, because when we truly know God, we are strengthened by Him and empowered to do great exploits. The working of the Gifts of the Spirit is evident in our gatherings, and we encourage our members to move beyond salvation to discipleship.

Our Identity

Ignite Church is a vibrant ministry that started in 2016 under the leadership of Pastors Adewale and Yemisi Odusanya. Our vision is to transform lives by raising leaders who effect change in the community. In doing so, we intentionally Discover God, Love deeply, and Lead boldly. Ignite is a refreshing non-denominational church and part of the larger umbrella of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, North America. As a church, we believe God has strategically positioned us in Silver Spring, MD, to take Silver Spring and the world beyond for Christ. We believe in authenticity in our Christian journey, Biblical truth in our teachings, and community for God’s people. Our services are an atmosphere of worship, prayers, and life-changing encounters with God.

Everything we do is anchored in three simple commitments: Discover, Love, and Lead.

We believe life with God is meant to be lived daily as we Discover Him by seeking Him intentionally through prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience. Each day is an opportunity to know Him more deeply, experience His presence more fully, and grow in faith.

We are called to Love by expressing His heart to others. Having received God’s unconditional love, we reflect it in our homes, our church, and our communities. Through compassion, service, generosity, and grace, we make His love visible and tangible.

And we are called to Lead lives that matter. Every person has a God-given purpose and has been commissioned to influence the world for Christ. We lead by example, integrity, and service, stepping boldly into God’s calling and helping others do the same.

Here’s What to Expect

How long is the service?

Our Ignite JHDC services are 60-75 minutes starting at 12:30 PM on the 2nd-5th Sunday of every month. On the first Sunday of the month, we have a joint service for everyone at JHDC at 10 am. Starting March 2026, Ignite will happen every Sunday @ 12:45 PM

What type of worship style should I expect?

Every service starts and ends with a contemporary praise and worship session led by our choir, the Perfected Praise choir. Whether you lift your hands in praise, clap, sing along or worship quietly with reflection, you’ll feel God’s presence.

What should I wear?

You can expect to see our congregation dressed in everything from suits to T-shirts and shorts. Wear what makes you comfortable but is moderate. We're family here!

Is there something for children?

Yes! We have Ignite Kids, our own way to keep the kids connected and engaged during service. We lead age-specific classes and take the time to teach the children how to understand the Bible engagingly. Our classes are divided by age below:
Lighters (Ages 0-2) Sparks (Ages 3-5) Flames (Ages 6-7) Fireworks (Ages 8+)
