The Alpha Team is focused on relational evangelism and creating a space for non-Christians or unchurched people to ask questions in a non-threatening environment. Alpha is an epic journey exploring the basics of the Christian faith; it’s a place where people come together to enjoy great food and conversation around a thought-provoking topic presented in the film and loaded with inspiring stories and interviews from people around the world. Through this journey, people develop relationships with Christ and build lasting and meaningful friendships!

The baptism team is responsible for coordinating the baptism classes and services.

The Campus Life Team at Ignite JHDC serves as a vital bridge between the church and local colleges, supporting students in their spiritual journey and personal growth. Our mission is to foster a sense of community among students across the DMV area who share a faith in Christ, providing opportunities for fellowship, networking, and professional development. We connect students to valuable career prospects, mentorship, and resources while also offering practical support such as transportation to ensure active participation in church events. Our team is dedicated to caring for the holistic well-being of each student, addressing their spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical needs, and empowering them to thrive both in their faith and their academic pursuits.

Changemakers is Ignite's community outreach ministry, dedicated to serving and uplifting individuals and families in need within the DMV metro area. We organize various service events and collaborate with local nonprofits to extend support, share compassion, and positively impact our community.

Evolution is the team primarily responsible for membership at Ignite JHDC. Our primary role is ensuring members are adequately assimilated into the church and supporting their growth and development at Ignite. This team connects guests with the church community and provides information and resources on Ignite events and ministry opportunities.

Responsible for greeting our guests and members with a smile and warm welcome. Follow-up of all guests of the Ignite service. Ensure virtual connect cards are filled out by new guests after service for record-keeping, marketing, and follow-up. Also responsible for assisting members with finding a seat and coordinating the collection of tithes and offerings. Provide same-day support for our pastors, invited ministers, and special guests. Help maintain the orderliness of the church services and coordinate with members or guests who want to speak with the pastor(s).

Ignite Groups are small groups that cater to the social needs of Ignite members and encourage the growth of genuine relationships. Anchor Groups are interest based groups led by interested leaders who facilitate group sessions. Core Groups include our ladies group, Sisters Achieving Love Together (S.A.L.T.), our guys group, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LXG), and a married couples group, Better Together. The Core Groups bring individuals in similar life spaces together for meaningful engagement.

Ignite Kids is the children's ministry for Ignite. We train future leaders to discover God's word through Bible stories, worship, and prayer in an interactive, fun, and caring environment.

The Ignite Media team functions as the custodian of the Ignite Brand and is responsible for content creation and quality maintenance. This team operates with a clearly defined structure and a strategic approach designed to inspire, educate, and involve individuals in the Ignite brand's core values, objectives, and mission. This effort requires team members to work collaboratively across multiple units, including Branding & Communication, Content Creation, and Live Production.

Lighthouse is the midweek experience for Ignite as a church. It is an interactive Bible study. The Lighthouse team is responsible for organizing and running Ignite’s Wednesday Lighthouse meetings, Ignite Lighthouse weekend, and other related programs. We strongly believe small group discussions are one of the most effective means of helping people cultivate their relationship with Jesus Christ and equipping them to fully become the persons God created them to be.

The Prayer Team is the spiritual heartbeat of Ignite, dedicated to fervently interceding on behalf of the entire Ignite community. We are also the driving force behind the Ignite Thursday Prayerline, Ignite The Nite (Prayer & Praise Night), and all our prayer and testimony events at Ignite. Maintaining a strong prayer life can be challenging, especially amid life's trials and tribulations. However, our mantra is simple yet profound: "Not for self, but for others." We wholeheartedly embrace this mission, pouring our passion and devotion into lifting up our community in prayer. By committing ourselves to this vital purpose, we impact the lives of those we pray for and nurture and strengthen our own prayer lives.

Responsible for on-boarding new members into the Ignite Serve Teams. Responsible for the overall management of Ignite serve teams.

Responsible for ensuring that the Ignite services are seamless, fluid, and cohesive. This includes overseeing service rehearsals when they are conducted and creating a service agenda and timeline for the services. Ensuring that every ministry of the service is aware of the service order for each week. Also responsible for serving as stage manager for the service. Service design coordinates with the Pastors to determine interactive activities as needed. 

The Vine Ministry, the singles branch of IgniteJHDC, is dedicated to empowering unmarried individuals by fostering a supportive community and preparing them for the future. At The Vine, we recognize the importance of building a strong foundation in purpose, skills, and gifts, which will help you thrive as a valued member of the Kingdom even before you say "I do." Our focus is not on what you lack but on the potential that lies within you. Whether you choose a life of singleness like Paul or another path, our ministry, through grace, we aim to guide you in growing with intention and purpose.

The Special Events Team is dedicated to organizing impactful events that bring our Ignite community together. Our goal is to foster connections, build lasting friendships, and create meaningful experiences that help members grow in their faith and strengthen their relationship with God. While some events are exclusively for Ignite members, many are open to the broader DMV community. Key events include worship nights, annual Memorial Day cookouts, Labor Day retreats or beach trips, and our Christmas party.

The Ignite Worship team is a fun and vibrant group of worshippers who passionately serve God through music. We desire to create an atmosphere of worship where there is openness and complete surrender to God.
